Therapeutic Support
Therapeutic support at Anchor Point offers a safe, confidential space for young people and families to explore thoughts, feelings, and challenges in a way that feels supportive, respectful, and down-to-earth.
You can book in for therapeutic support to:
Talk about things like anxiety, low mood, stress, or feeling overwhelmed
Work through big life changes, transitions, or tricky family dynamics
Explore identity, self-esteem, and relationships (including friendships and peer pressures)
Learn tools to manage emotions, build resilience, and feel more grounded
Be supported after experiencing trauma or difficult experiences
Engage in outdoor or creative therapy, like bush walks, mindfulness, journaling, or art-based approaches
You might be referred by your doctor, your school, or another professional or you might reach out yourself (or as a parent/carer) when you feel that extra support could help.
Every session is tailored to the individual. We can sit and talk, walk and talk, create something together, or build skills through activity-based learning. You don’t have to have all the answers, just come as you are.
Youth Anchor Project
The Youth Anchor Project is a 12-week therapeutic program designed to empower adolescents through connection, creativity, and self-discovery. Grounded in evidence-based practice and tailored to each young person, this program offers a safe, supportive space for adolescents to explore identity, build resilience, and develop meaningful life skills.
Each week combines adventure-based therapy, creative arts, and mindfulness practices to foster emotional regulation, confidence, and self-awareness. Activities are delivered in both individual and small group formats and focus on:
🌿 Emotional regulation and resilience
🧭 Navigating friendship dynamics and social connection
❤️ Exploring healthy relationships, boundaries, and consent
🎨 Expressing identity through creative arts
🧘 Mindfulness and grounding practices
🫱🫲 Building trust, communication, and teamwork
Adventure-Based Activities Include:
🚣 Canoeing
🏄 Stand-up paddleboarding
🥾 Bushwalking
🤿 Snorkeling
🔥 Outdoor cooking and campfire connection
The program culminates in a group-led expedition where participants work together to plan and complete a multi-day outdoor adventure. This final journey gives adolescents the opportunity to apply the skills they’ve developed, strengthen their sense of achievement, and build lasting confidence and connection with themselves, each other, and nature.
Facilitated by qualified social workers and mental health professionals, The Youth Anchor Project provides a therapeutic anchor point for young people to explore, connect, and thrive.
